November 15th, more than 200 experts and scholars from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Hunan gathered at the Hunan Institute of Technology (HNIT) to attend the First Ergonomics Association Conference.
The topics of ‘Ergonomics and Security’, ‘Ergonomics and Traffic’, ‘Ergonomics and Design’ and ‘Ergonomics and Fatigue Performance’ had been discussed during the conference.
The opening ceremony was presided by Vice-President of HNIT Cui Xiaoli. Eminent scholars and professors came and attended the conference, including the President of HNIT Zhang Li, Dr. Liu Zuoyi from National Science Committee, Vice Mayor of Hengyang Dr. Zhou Huibin, Chairman of the International Ergonomics Association Professor Wang Mingyang, Chairman of Hong Kong Institute of Human Ergonomics Representative Zheng Shuji, Professor Zhang Wei from Chinese Society of Ergonomics.
Director of the Natural Science Foundation of Hunan Province Professor Wang Xianmin delivered a speech on the meeting. He said, “I would like to express congratulations to HNIT, I hope there would be more research active institutes and developments could be involved in the area of ergonomics, building an efficient academic foundation and promoting ergonomics in the vigorous development in China.”
The meeting was held not only enhance the academic exchanges and cooperation with mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan but also it provided a valuable opportunity for academic staff in related area to study and communicate with one another.
